Caldecott Hall Golf Club - Fritton - 7.23 miles
Caldecott Hall is a popular venue with a range of good facilities which offer a pleasant day out to members and visitors. As well as the 18 hole golf course, there's an interesting par three course which demands the use of a range of clubs. The golf course is configured as two loops of nine holes eminating from the clubhouse and is inviting with views from the first tee over much of the opening nine holes which is set on undulating land. The clubhouse is converted 18th century Grade II listed barn and has adjoining changing rooms with oak lockers. The resident professional is on hand for individual or group tuition whilst the Pro Shop is competitively equipped for all your needs.
Berney Arms Windmill - Norfolk - 9.26 miles
One of Norfolk 's best and largest extant marsh mills, built to grind a constituent of cement and, in use until 1951, finally pumping water to drain surrounding marshland.
Lowestoft Maritime Museam - 3.2 miles
Robert Sparrow's estate was purchased by Lowestoft Corporation to celebrate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee and the Museum stands in this idyllic setting, formerly Sparrow's summer home, known as 'Sparrow's Nest' below the 'Highlight', Lowestoft's landmark lighthouse, see buildings bottom centre in the photo above. The Highlight can trace its origins back to Samuel Pepys and the Brotherhood of Trinity House; it is said that the loom of its twin 500 watt lanterns can be seen at 20 miles (32km) in clear weather.
